What to Expect on Exam #2
- Exam #2 will have two parts: a written part and a hands-on lab part.
- On the Written Part you will answer about 15 multiple-choice/short-answer questions. For this part you are allowed
to use a hand-held calculator (no cell phones) but no computer, books,
notes, or handouts.
- On the Lab Part you will use LabVIEW to write two programs that cover most of the topics we've studied so far, including arrays and clusters. For this part you are allowed to use your desktop computer (no laptops), books, notes, lab
handouts, a hand-held calculator (no cell phones), and old program files that you have saved to the computer. You are not allowed to have a flash drive in your computer during the exam. You are also not allowed to use the Internet except to upload your program files to the course website.
- The programs are not all-or-nothing: for each program I'll be looking for a dozen or more items, and you'll earn credit for all of the items that you get right. Most students will get at least partial credit on both programs.
- One of the programs will require you to use the myDAQ and
the trainer to perform one or more of the following types of operation:
analog input, analog output, digital input, digital output, counter
input.
