A smart, entertaining guy named Dave Jones has lots of videos about electronics on YouTube and on his website, www.eevblog.com. Take a look at his video on FPGAs. If you’d like to experiment with your own FPGA at home, he also sells a small, inexpensive board with an Altera FPGA and a USB Blaster, which you’ll need to connect the FPGA board to your computer.
